A training system that allows all to utilize the full potential of a scientific calculator
GAKUHAN is a Casio initiative that partners with educators to integrate scientific calculators into mathematics education, supporting curriculum-based learning with specialized tools, training, and resources
Every year, 25 million students in secondary schools around the world use CASIO scientific calculators. The calculator is now more than just a computational tool. Specifically, it has become an established method of learning that helps students develop problem-solving skills.
At CASIO, selling calculators isn’t our only goal. We actively support the teachers and students who use them. As a result, they can achieve better mathematical education through the scientific calculator. We call this philosophy GAKUHAN.
Specifically, our main activities focus on three key areas:
CASIO is the only company that delivers GAKUHAN worldwide through scientific calculators. At the same time, we work closely with local coordinators and teachers in many countries. As a result, the approach adapts to the needs of each education system.
For example, every six months we host the “Skill up Seminar” series. In these meetings, we bring together coordinators and partner teachers from across our network. The goal is to share ideas on how to improve mathematics teaching through scientific calculators.
CASIO’s mission is clear. We support teachers in creating better classrooms. Moreover, we help students unlock their academic potential. As a result, their dreams, to enter university, to become doctors, engineers or teachers, become reality.
We invite you to be part of this community. Mathematics teachers can join our activities, receive training and use the teaching materials. They can also help expand the network of educators who train other teachers or develop new resources.
Together, we’re building a better teaching and learning environment, for the next generation of students in Greece and around the world.
